What went wrong with Prometheus

Thanks to Eric Cheng, I went to Prometheus over the weekend. Objectively, it’s an awful movie. Plot holes you can drive a truck through. Characters that make you shake your head at their actions/motivations.
I described it to a friend as, “If you want to think about the movie, it’s awful. If you just want to watch the movie, it’s pretty good.”
Visually, I loved it. And I’ll see it again with friends here in PDX. But it honestly wasn’t a very good movie.
